Daily Post Photography Challenge: Evanescent Sunsets

This week’s photo challenge is evanescent.  Whenever I pick up my camera it reminds me of the evanescent nature of all things, but especially sunsets.  You have to take a picture quick or it will fade away and you will miss the opportunity.

 

I used to struggle with taking pictures of sunsets, not really knowing where to focus and how to get the colors to show.  By the time I was ready, it was already getting dark and the picture opportunity would quickly fade.

 

Now, I just concentrate on getting the picture.  Sometimes I am lucky and other times, not so much.  I will sometimes focus on the ocean (if it is there) or just the sky.  I am happy when I can capture the beauty of the sunset, but I realize that nothing can replace seeing it in person.
