Photography: I Don’t Want To Bug You (#4)

Below are some of my favorite bug photos that I have taken earlier in the summer.  I managed to get a real close up of a mosquito, which is rare, considering they give me the creeps (seriously.  Even bees don’t scare me as much as they do).  This one, I think female, looked like she wasn’t going to fly up and try to drink my blood, so I quickly shot a photo of her before I or she changed our mind.

I know it has been a while since I have written and posted some of my photos, but I plan on getting into the schedule of posting more often.  I have missed taking photographs, and didn’t get much of a chance to take many this summer.  Summer was not only extremely hot, but it was also busy for me.  I was practicing for the SATs that I was going to retake in August and we were having quite a few large renovation project going on in the house which kept me busy.  It being so hot, I didn’t really want to step out of the house.  I was never made for heat and it is one of the few things that I can’t stand.  So, even when I did have time to go out, most of the time it was too hot for me to handle (meaning me sitting in the hot sun for a long time trying to get a bug to stay still long enough for a photograph… Which, you’ll be surprised to know, in the heat of the day they rarely stay in one spot long enough for a photo).

Now that school has started, you would not believe how crazy busy 12th grade is!  The onslaught of homework in combination with the craziness of college applications and tours is overwhelming.  Thankfully, though, I have gotten through most of the college work that I need to do.  I have submitted my applications and am only now waiting for responses while catching up with my homework.  The only time that I had managed to scrape together, is now, on winter break!  The few times that I had managed to get out during the summer and it wasn’t too hot, I actually got some really nice ones.  I have more bug photos that I plan on posting, but these are the ones I am most excited about.

My favorite photograph is of the mosquito, since it was a first for me.  Which photograph is your favorite?
